alcoholThe misuse of alcohol can have severe consequences - for the person who is misusing alcohol, those people around them and the wider Tamworth community. It can affect wellbeing, health, work and family life and is a significant factor in crime and disorder.

As a Community Safety Partnership, one of our priorities is to reduce the harm caused by the misuse of alcohol, so significantly improving the quality of life for the affected person as well as society as a whole.

Our focus in tackling alcohol misuse is on prevention, education, awareness and enforcement. This includes:

  • Working in schools to educate pupils about alcohol

  • Helping to ensure Tamworth has a safe and vibrant night time economy through licensing and enforcement

  • Working with licencees and owners of pub, clubs and off-licences to tackle and reduce alcohol misuse

  • Involving the Tamworth community and keeping them informed about alcohol-related issues
